Join our Ensemble in Kreuzberg
Starting 15 September 2026, every Tuesday evening in Kapelle am Urban, Berlin.
After a wonderful season, we are opening up new spots and starting work on a completely new play this September. Are you ready to join?
Every Tuesday evening from September 2026 until June 2027, with a winter break from December until mid-March, a fixed ensemble comes together to create, rehearse, and perform. The direction, the story, the text, decided together and shaped by the group’s interests and energy.

Our Approach
We work with different theatre methods and techniques, and the group is always at the centre of the process. Everyone brings their own ideas, input, and energy. Together we decide what direction we go, what story we tell, and how we tell it. We may work with an existing text, but we always make it our own.
We create a space where people feel free to try things, make mistakes, and surprise themselves. No judgement, no pressure to be perfect. Just a warm group of people making something together. And we make sure to have a lot of fun along the way.

what we will do toghether
- Create and perform an original theatre production together
- Work regularly with the same group from September until June
- Explore improvisation, scene work, and character development in depth
- Discover and develop different theatre methods together
- Work with language, body, and imagination
- Stand on stage and perform in front of a live audience at least twice
We love music and love to incorporate it into our work. If you sing or play an instrument and want to bring that into the process, please let us know.
Interested in more than just performing? From costumes to set design, you are welcome to be part of that process as well.
This is for you if you want to
- Commit to a weekly creative practice from September until June
- Work closely with a small, international group over several months
- Explore yourself on stage, with body, voice, and language
- Go deeper into theatre than a short project allows
- Step out of your comfort zone in a supportive and fun environment
- Stand on stage and perform in front of an audience
This project is open to beginners and experienced players alike.
You don’t need to be an experienced actor. Curiosity, engagement, and the willingness to play is all that you need.
What you'll get in return
- Over 80 hours of theatre work together
- A full production created and performed by the group
- Every Tuesday evening plus extra Saturday rehearsals
- An extra Saturday session in February during the winter break to stay connected as a group
- Additional rehearsals shortly before the performances
- A weekend away in nature with the whole group. Part creative work, part teambuilding, and a lot of fun.
- Personal feedback throughout the process to help you grow
- At least 2 to 3 public performances in a real theatre venue, with everything that comes with it
- The opportunity to bring your own ideas and creativity, whether that is on stage, with costumes, set design, or anything else
- Guidance from a professional team with years of experience

Rehearsals: Every Tuesday, 20:00–22:00

Location: Kapelle am Urban, Grimmstraße 10, 10967 Berlin (Kreuzberg, close to Admiralbrücke)
Fee: 920€ (full payment) or 960€ in three installments of 320€
Concessions: 769€ (full payment) or 810€ in three installments of 270€
Installment dates: September 2026, January 2027, April 2027

A long weekend outside the city with the group. Please note that this involves a small additional contribution for travel and accommodation. We will keep this as low as possible and share all details closer to the time.

One final concentrated push before the performances - Performances, June 2027
At least 2 to 3 public performances. The moment the whole year has been building toward.Planned dates: 3, 4 + 5 June or 11, 12 + 13 June 2027. Exact dates to be confirmed soon.

About us
Paillette Theater makes multilingual theatre, productions and workshops, in Berlin, with projects across Germany and beyond. We bring people from different backgrounds and languages together to build, train, and grow, with a lot of curiosity and joy along the way.
Led by Vincent Simon (actor, director, theatre educator) together with Anna Mensonides (theatre educator, producer).
